It’s October and a time for kids of all ages to walk the
streets going house to house. A fun time
for many, but during these fall nights many will remember the tales of our
youth. These tales, many based off of
real stories distorted throughout time are meant to teach us lessons.
In the early 1800’s, a young teen who was from a poor family
was invited to a formal dance.
Unfortunately she didn’t own a dress as she was the daughter of a peasant
farmer. Her father helped her rent a
beautiful gown and for one night she became the belle of the ball. She eventually becomes dizzy, from too much
dancing she thinks and ask her date to take her home. The next morning, her father tries to wake her
to help with the chores but there is no response as she has passed. It turns out that the dress her father rented
was stolen from a corpse before burial, and she was poisoned with embalming
fluid that activated when she sweated, slowly stopping her blood flow.
A man who was on a business trip in Chicago woke up in his
hotel from a commotion outside his room.
It turns out to be a hearse “filled with people,” and the scary-looking
driver shouts the titular phrase “There is room for one more!” at the businessman.
The hearse eventually leaves, and the man’s colleagues try to convince him it
was all a dream. However, the next day, he goes to enter a crowded elevator in
a skyscraper office building, and someone says the same thing to him. Before
the doors shut, he sees that it’s the hearse driver and refuses to enter. The
doors close, and he hears shrieks as the elevator plummets to the ground and
kills everyone inside.
Teenagers love the freedom that comes with being able to
drive, but for one high school senior unknowingly carrying a passenger in the
backseat of her car left impressions on many young drivers since the
1960’s. The story goes that a man in a
red pick-up truck keeps flashing his high beams at her. At first, she gives him the benefit of the doubt,
but as he continues to flash his lights and closely tailgates her, she panics
and rushes home. There, she abandons her
car in the driveway and yells for her dad to call the police. When they arrive,
the man in the pick-up truck explains that he was trying to warn the girl and
save her from an intruder in her backseat who was wielding a knife.
We have all heard about the young lady who was babysitting
two children. After she tucked them into
bed, the telephone rang. A low gruff
voice on the other line whispered, “I’m coming for you.” Thinking it was a prank call from one of her
teenage friends, she hung up the phone with a roll of her eyes. Thirty seconds later the phone rang
again. This time the heavy breathing
rumbling low voice on the other line started to describe what she was wearing
and threatened her with certain death.
The terrified baby-sitter quickly called the police who traced the call
and informed her that the call was coming from inside the house.
However, the scariest story was of the demolition company
that was offered a multimillion dollar contract to remove the heavy debris from
the job site. The scariest part of the
story is the company didn’t have the rotomolded tilt truck designed by Web-Tex
built tough for the interior demolition and construction industry. The company wasn’t able to use the powder
coated welded steel frame tilt trucks that are proudly manufactured and
assembled in North Texas. As a matter of
fact, they were not able to use a tilt truck that could fit through standard
commercial doorways and onto elevators with ease. Their forklifts they had were not
forkliftable and were unable to dump debris without issues.
Fortunately for us, all of these stories are variations of
truths. And as for the last story in
this blog, companies in the demolition, construction, landscape and janitorial
industries can sleep well at night because Web-Tex Tilt Trucks Parts &
Accessories are made from 100% recycled plastic and can haul debris over 1100
pounds with no effort at all. You can
put your mind at ease by calling Web-Tex at (214) 939-0082 or visit www.tilttrucksaccessories.com
and assure yourself not to become the subject of a Scary Story.
