With the largest State Fair taking place this week at Fair
Park in Dallas, Texas; many people from all over the world will be greeted with
a deep booming “Howdy Folks” from the iconic Big Tex.
Fairgoers will see the famous Cotton Bowl Stadium where so
many Southwest Conference greats once played.
Head Coaches like John Heisman, Dana X. Bible, Paul "Bear"
Bryant, Darrell Royal, Frank Broyles, Hayden Fry, Lou Holtz, Bill Yeoman, Gene
Stallings, and Grant Teaff could be seen barking plays at notable SWC players
like Davey O'Brien, Sammy Baugh, Bobby Layne, Doak Walker, Tom Landry, Bob
Lilly, Don Meredith, Earl Campbell, Andre Ware, Mike Singletary, John David
Crow, Lance Alworth, Dan Hampton, Steve Atwater, Joe Ferguson, and Eric
Dickerson.
The other larger than life staple is the Ferris Wheel
appropriately named the Texas Star. It
has an overall height of 216 feet and was the tallest Ferris wheel in North
America from 1985 until 2013. It can
carry up to 264 passengers in its 44 gondolas not to be confused with Web-Tex
Tilt Trucks which we will discuss soon.
Over 2 million visitors will enter the gates and have the
pleasure of experiencing rowdy fans attending the OU-Texas Football Rivalry,
World Famous Fletcher's brand corny dogs, unusual deep-fried items, including
deep-fried Oreos, deep-fried Twinkies, deep-fried s'mores, deep-fried pork
ribs, fried cheesecake; deep-fried butter, fried avocados, deep-fried peanut
butter, jelly, and banana sandwiches, and most recently a batter-based fried
Coke. Since 1886, the State Fair has celebrities
like Oprah Winfrey, Elvis Presley, Garth Brooks, Jonas Brothers, Debbie
Reynolds, Carrie Fisher and Selena Gomez have entertain guest adding to the
enjoyment of all.
As a comparison between the longest running fair in the USA
and Web-Tex which has proudly manufactured and assembled the toughest
rotomolded tilt trucks for landscaping, janitorial, interior demolition and
construction industries; the average onlooker would think Big Tex and company
would have the edge. However, did you
know that the State Fair only operates for 2 weeks during the fall? Web-Tex tilt trucks coated welded steel frame
fits through standard commercial doorways and onto elevators with ease. These tilt trucks are forkliftable and can
handle over 1,200 pounds of heavy debris.
Not to mention, all Web-Tex Tilt Trucks are made from 100% recycled
plastics.
